JEDDAH: Heralding a new chapter in its distinguished legacy, the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association (AMUOBA), Jeddah Chapter, formally installed its Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term at an impressive ceremony held on 21 June 2026. The occasion drew an eminent gathering of senior Aligs, former Presidents, Election Commissioners, distinguished guests, and members of the fraternity, reaffirming that AMUOBA Jeddah exemplifies a bond that time cannot sever. Their gracious presence reflected the Association's enduring ethos of unity, intellectual excellence, and selfless service.

In a brief yet deeply inspiring inaugural address, the newly elected President, Dr. Prince Mufti Ziaul Hasan, whose leadership is distinguished by integrity, vision, and humility, articulated a progressive roadmap firmly rooted in the timeless ideals of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. His message of hope, integrity, and purposeful action resonated profoundly with the audience, inspiring renewed confidence in the Association's future.

The newly elected Executive Committee comprises Dr. Prince Mufti Ziaul Hasan (President), Rabnawaz Khan (Vice President), Athar Rasool (General Secretary), Mohammad Omaish Ansari (Treasurer), Mohammed Danish Khan (Joint Secretary), and Cabinet Members Abid Hussain Aftab, Adnan Shoeb, Arshad Alam Khan, Dr. Abrar Ahmad, Fahad Afridi, Fahad Ayub Zinjani, Mohammad Imran Siddiqui, Mohammad Manauar, and Wazir Khan.

The installation ceremony was efficiently conducted by General Secretary Athar Rasool. Election Commissioner Nayyar Mumtaz presented a transparent and comprehensive account of the nomination and election process, highlighting the fairness and democratic conduct of the proceedings. Senior Election Commissioner Imtiaz Ahmed commended the smooth electoral process and shared valuable insights from his experience. The programme concluded with an eloquent vote of thanks in Urdu by Vice President Rabnawaz Khan, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the elections and the installation ceremony.

In one of its first official engagements, the newly elected Executive Committee paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, Consul General of India, Jeddah. The delegation was deeply appreciative of the Consul General's warm reception, insightful guidance, and unwavering commitment to the welfare and empowerment of the Indian community in the Kingdom.

During the meeting, H.E. Mr. Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri displayed keen interest in AMUOBA Jeddah's future initiatives and encouraged the Association to harness the Alig fraternity's vast intellectual capital and global professional network to deepen India–Saudi Arabia cooperation in technology, scientific research, innovation, entrepreneurship, trade, and employment. Describing AMUOBA as a valuable bridge between the two friendly nations, he assured the Executive Committee of the Consulate's wholehearted support and expressed confidence in the Association's ability to make a meaningful contribution to bilateral relations.

In a constructive exchange of ideas, Dr. Prince Mufti Ziaul Hasan, acclaimed for his sanguine outlook and visionary leadership, led the presentation, while General Secretary Athar Rasool articulated the Association's organisational priorities with clarity and purpose. Advisor Engr. Aqeel Jamil, together with the Cabinet members and senior professionals, enriched the deliberations with their experience and expertise. Collectively, they presented the Executive Committee's vision and action plan, focusing on community welfare, professional networking, youth empowerment, and initiatives to further strengthen the Indian diaspora's contribution to both India and Saudi Arabia.

The Consul General praised the Executive Committee's forward-looking vision and assured the Association of the Consulate's continued support and guidance. He expressed confidence that AMUOBA Jeddah would play a pivotal role in community development and further strengthening India–Saudi Arabia relations.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to sustained collaboration for the welfare of the Indian diaspora and the continued enhancement of the enduring partnership between India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
